Servo Base PLC Control Vial Filling With Pick And Place Type Stoppering Machine

Application & Process

The Pharmateq Servo-based PLC control vial filling with pick-and-place stoppering machine is designed to accurately and efficiently fill vials with liquid or semi-liquid products, making it ideal for industries like pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare, cosmetics, and chemicals where precision and sterile filling are essential.

Process:

  • Vial Loading: Empty vials are fed into the machine via an infeed conveyor or vial unscrambler. The pick-and-place system carefully positions the vials in the filling area.

  • Filling Operation: The servo-based PLC control system provides precise control during filling. Using diving or reciprocating nozzles, the machine dispenses the required volume of liquid into each vial. The fill volume is easily adjustable through the PLC interface, accommodating different vial sizes.

  • Vial Stoppering: After filling, the pick-and-place system accurately places a rubber stopper on each vial. This mechanism ensures correct alignment and gentle handling, avoiding damage to the vials or stoppers.

  • Capping or Sealing: Depending on the machine configuration, a capping or sealing station may apply caps, lids, or aluminum seals to the vials after stoppering, ensuring protection from contaminants.

  • Inspection and Rejection (Optional): In high-quality production environments, an inspection system can detect defects or discrepancies. Non-conforming vials are automatically rejected.

  • Labeling and Packaging (Optional): Filled and sealed vials can be labeled and packaged into cartons or trays for further distribution.

Advantages:

  • High Precision: The servo-based system ensures accurate and consistent filling, minimizing product wastage and ensuring uniformity.

  • Versatility: The PLC control allows easy adjustments for various vial sizes and filling volumes, suitable for a range of products.

  • Sterile Filling: The pick-and-place stoppering mechanism ensures a clean and sterile process, critical for pharmaceutical and healthcare applications.

  • Efficient Production: Automation increases production efficiency, reducing labor costs and improving throughput.
