Automatic Vial Filling & Stoppering Machine

Application & Process

The Pharmateq Automatic Volumetric Liquid Vial Filling Machine operates on a volumetric principle with diving nozzles. This compact and versatile unit is enclosed in a sleek, matte-finished stainless steel body. It features an S.S. Slat Conveyor, Reciprocating Nozzle with self-centering devices, and an SS Syringe. A standard feature of the machine is its "no container, no filling" system. The main and conveyor drives use an A/C motor synchronized with a variable A/C Frequency Drive.

Vials are transported on the SS Slat conveyor from the unscrambler to the filling nozzles through a twin pneumatically operated stopper system. This system, along with the reciprocating nozzles, ensures precise centering of the vial, preventing liquid spillage. To reduce foaming, the adjustable nozzle gradually moves upwards from the vial's bottom to the neck during filling.

A dosing block with a hexagonal bolt is placed beneath the syringes, allowing easy adjustment of fill size. The syringes are equipped with non-return valves to prevent volume variation during filling. Liquid is transferred to the filling nozzles through transparent silicone pipes. The nozzles move up and down with the aid of a cam mechanism, lowering to fill the vials when held by the star wheel and retracting when the filling is complete. Once filled, the star wheel advances four to six vials onto the conveyor for the rubber stoppering stage.

The stoppering unit includes a Star wheel, Vibrator unit, and Bowl. Sterilized rubber stoppers stored in the vibrator bowl are fed vertically into the stopper chute. The vial, held firmly by the continuously rotating star wheel, picks up a stopper as it passes the chute. The stopper is pressed into place by a spring-loaded roller. The vial is then moved to the integrated scrambler for the next sealing operation.
