Vacuum Shelf Tray Dryer

Application & Process
PHARMATEK Vacuum Shelf Tray Dryers are utilized for heating and drying materials under vacuum conditions, a process known as vacuum drying. This technique is particularly effective for drying materials that are challenging to dry due to high toxicity, hygroscopic nature, or heat sensitivity. Vacuum drying is widely employed in the pharmaceutical, herbal, chemical, and food industries.
A PHARMATEK Vacuum Shelf Dryer functions as a tray dryer that operates under vacuum conditions. It employs vacuum pressure to eliminate air and humidity from the closed heat chamber. This creates a vacuum state that significantly accelerates the drying rate while conserving energy. Since the system operates in a closed loop, no contamination occurs during the drying process. The evaporated materials during drying are cooled through a connected condenser and collected in a receiver. When paired with a solvent extraction system, the vacuum shelf dryer ensures that nearly all evaporated vapors are recovered and condensed into the receiver.
The PHARMATEK Vacuum Shelf Dryer features a closed chamber with a robust structure, air lock doors, and a jacketed and insulated body. Inside the chamber, shelves are provided for resting trays. These shelves are designed with a hollow construction, equipped with baffles, stiffeners, and inlet and outlet nozzles. A hot medium is circulated through the inlet header to each shelf, transferring heat to the surface and subsequently heating the trays placed on the shelves. The hot medium exits the shelves through the outlet header.
