Fluidized Bed Coater- Bottom Spray Wurster Coater - Pellet Coater

Application & Process
The Pharmateq Fluid Bed Coater is designed for drying, cooling, and coating particulate materials, making it suitable for heat-sensitive and non-heat-sensitive products across industries such as Pharmaceuticals, Biotech, Nutraceuticals, Cosmetics, Chemicals, Food, Dairy, Confectionery, Agrochemicals, Herbals, and more.
Depending on the application, Pharmateq fluid bed equipment can be configured into different designs:
**Fluid Bed Mixing and Drying Process**
In this system, solid particles rest on a fluidized bed created by a stream of air passing upward through a specially perforated sheet. The air velocity lifts and moves the particles slightly, allowing for effective mixing and forward movement. The air is heated to evaporate fluid, efficiently drying the solids.
**Fluid Bed Coater with Wurster Coater (Bottom Spray) for Granule or Pellet Coating**
The Wurster Coater allows for a variety of processes, including:
- Aqueous or solvent-based coatings
- Controlled-release coatings
- Enteric-release coatings
- Fine particle coatings
- Active layering
The process uses a Wurster system to apply coatings to granules or pellets. In this method, the coating solution is sprayed inside a hollow cylinder (Wurster) while a small quantity of pellets enters the cylinder from the bottom. The particles are then coated evenly by bottom spray guns and quickly move upward, preventing clumping. Once outside the Wurster, the particles dry and the cycle repeats until the desired coating layer is achieved. This controlled movement ensures uniform coating of the particles.
