Application & Process
The PHARMATEK Double Cone Rotary Vacuum Dryer is suitable for raw materials that need to be concentrated, mixed, and dried at low temperatures. This is particularly beneficial for biochemistry products in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and food industries. It is especially suitable for raw materials that:

  • Cannot withstand high temperatures.

  • Are prone to oxidation.

  • Must not be destroyed.

  • Need to recover residual volatiles.

  • Are vigorous irritants or toxic.

The PHARMATEK Double Cone Rotary Vacuum Dryer consists of a jacketed double conical shell rotating at 6 RPM under a vacuum state inside the shell, with steam or hot water passing into the jacket for heating. The large heating surface area provided by the internals of the cone ensures uniform drying of the product as it gently tumbles while the cone rotates slowly. The vaporized air can be pumped out through a vacuum exhaust pipe when the damp raw material absorbs heat.

The diffusive action induced by the tumbling cone continuously presents a fresh layer of material to come into contact with the indirectly heated walls of the shell, quickening the drying rate and improving uniform drying efficiency. A well-designed sealing system enables the maintenance of deep vacuum inside the shell and ensures positive circulation of the heating media in the jacket.
